Arts & Crafts Fair
Silent Auction

Schroon Lake Association volunteers solicit special gifts and offerings from area businesses and entrepreneurs which can be used for the Silent Auction table at the Fair.  Here you can find all manner of treasures from a weekend at a local B & B, or a dinner at one of our area restaurants, or a professional massage, to gifts donated by Fair vendors.  Drop in at the Silent Auction Table from time to time as you wander through the Fair.  You may be the successful bidder on a real treasure!

And don't forget to visit the Schroon Lake Association booth at the Fair right next to the Silent Auction Table.  This last summer we had beautiful new t-shirts for sale for $15 featuring the Oneida Stowe picture of Adirondack chairs.  We also sold tickets for the Navajo style rug woven and donated by Dave Foreman of Bolton Landing.  Or you could have bought a colorful duck to enter in the Duck Race which was held on on September 2nd!  What fun that was as the ducks were herded down Mill Creek to the lake.  Cash prizes were awarded to the three fastest ducks!  Next year we will have the Second Annual Schroon Lake Duck Race.  So plan to buy a colorful duck at our booth when you come to the Fair.  You could also have purchased a ticket to the German dinner at the Tumble Inn B & B where succulent food was prepared and served by Schroon Lake Association volunteers.  I am sure we will have a siumilar event next year.  It was an enormous success.  At our booth you could also have picked up a free copy of the fascinating historical booklet "Rescue of a Lake Called Schroon" by Lester Speiser.  We will still have those available next year if you missed getting one!

And remember, all the funds we raise go towards our support of lake projects.  This is a chance for you to get a reward for helping us!!

Below is a photo of former SLA President Herman Simon and his wife Yvette at the Silent Auction, engrossed in a book by Nancy Harste containing many wonderful old Schroon Lake postcards.  To the right, SLA Director Arnold Paglia stands guard at the Silent Auction while SLA Director Chuck Harste assists prospective buyers.
