Schroon Lake Association volunteers solicit special gifts and offerings from area businesses and entrepreneurs which can be used for the Silent Auction table at the Fair. Here you can find all manner of treasures from a weekend at a local B & B, or a dinner at one of our area restaurants, or a professional massage, to gifts donated by Fair vendors. Drop in at the Silent Auction Table from time to time as you wander through the Fair. You may be the successful bidder on a real treasure!
And don't forget to visit the Schroon Lake Association booth at the Fair (right next to the Silent Auction Table.) You can buy a colorful duck to enter in the Duck Race which will be held on on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. What fun to watch the ducks race down Mill Creek to the lake. Cash prizes are awarded to the three fastest ducks! Be sure to buy your duck early before we run out of tickets! This year we will have the Fifth Annual Schroon Lake Duck Race. At our booth we will also have information and displays on invasives such as purple loosestrife and Eurasian water milfoil (EWM) and you can pick up a free copy of the fascinating historical booklet "Rescue of a Lake Called Schroon" by Lester Speiser. We will have membership forms there too. Join us and receive our Newsletter and updates by email during the year. As long as the supply lasts you can pick up a back copy of one of our Newsletters too.
Remember, all the funds we raise go towards our support of lake projects. We need your support!
